What Type of Massage Therapy & Bodywork do we offer?

Aromatherapy Massage:
A combination of Swedish Massage and Shiatsu techniques, using various essential plant & vegetable oils. The therapeutic action of the essential oils takes place either through skin absorption or through the respiratory tract as inhaled vapors. The client is left feeling deeply relaxed or energized, depending on which oil is used.

Geriatric Massage:
A massage system that emphasizes treating specific physiological & psychological conditions associated with the aging process. The treatment combines various gentle techniques such as Swedish, Reflexology, and Reiki. The massage table is adjusted to a more suitable height or, if necessary, the client is treated while in bed or a wheelchair. Consult physician before receiving massage.

Pregnancy Massage:
This is specifically for woman during all stages of pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. Various techniques are used such as swedish, shiatsu and reflexology in addition to specific stretching techniques. A massage table is used along with various pillows and support wedges to accomodate you and allow for optimum comfort at all times during your massage. S

Reflexology:
The study, science, & art of using various touch techniques on specific points of the feet, hands, or ears, to normalize body function, maintain optimum health & restore energy throughout the body. Reflexologists theorize that points on the feet correspond to particular organs, glands or parts of the body and by applying pressure to these areas, it releases restricted energy flow, improves blood supply and promotes neurological stimulation to the affected area.

Swedish Massage:
The most popular and widely used form of massage. Long soothing strokes, kneading and percussion movements. Helps to loosen tense muscles and promote better circulation and joint mobilization.

Zen Shiatsu:
A form of acupressure. This method uses the thumbs, fingers, elbows, knees, and even feet to apply pressure to specific energy pathways throughout the body. The client is usually lying on a shiatsu matt or futon and wearing comfortable clothing. This is an excellent choice for those clients who prefer no oils or lotions. 1 1/2 hour session.

Chair Massage:
A way to provide massage, usually accupressure, to clients who are in a seated position. Because it is done through the clothing, this massage requires no oils or lotions. These 5-20 minute massages leave the client feeling revitalized, relaxed, and alert. Ideal for corporate settings, large parties, or fundraisers.

CranioSacral Therapy:
A gentle manipulation, which locates and corrects imbalances in the cranio sacral system (brain, spinal cord, cerebrospinal fluid, dural membrane, cranial bones, and sacrum). CranioSacral Therapy is used alone or in conjunction with other bodywork therapies. It is used to treat numerous ailments such as, TMJ, headaches, eye & ear problems, stiff neck and spine, whiplash, as well as, learning disabilities, hyperactivity, autism, & cerebral palsy.

Ear Candling:
A very gentle & relaxing treatment to remove excessive ear wax and fluid from the ear canal. Excellent for relieving sinus pressure, headaches, swimmers ear, and hearing difficulties. Not recommended for children with ear tubes or people with ruptured ear drums. Session is 1 hour.

Reiki:
Reiki is a hands on healing technique that balances, realigns energy and activates your own healing powers. Through loose clothing, the practitioner, through a series of hand placements, channels universal life energy through the hands and into the client. Reiki has no contraindications and is recommended before and after surgery, during serious illness, and can be used in conjunction with conventional treatments such as chemotherapy. Reiki can also initiate and promote deeper healing at the emotional and spiritual levels and stimulate personal growth.
